Why don't Governors and Senators do More?

This President has spent the last year and a half cleaning up giant piles of Elephant dung people.   This oil spill is the latest and largest pile.  Here's what I want to know.  Why isn't Bobby Jindal doing more ?  Why didn't David Vitter make sure the oil company had a backup plan before drilling ? Why doesn't Haley Barbour put more skimming boats in the water ?  The elected officials below are responsible for oil in their water.  They should fix this mess because they caused it.  These governors and these sentaors wanted oil drilling in their water, they supported de-regulation of the oil companies, they did nothing to ensure safe drilling or backup systems and THEY should be held reponsible.

Here is the President tonight urging Governors to take action:

"I have authorized the deployment of over 17,000 National Guard members along the coast.  These servicemen and women are ready to help stop the oil from coming ashore, clean beaches, train response workers, or even help with processing claims – and I urge the governors in the affected states to activate these troops as soon as possible."

Below is contact information.  Why don't we turn the fire on them for awhile? NPR the other day had a group from Louisiana talking about the oil impact and the entire discussion was about protecting oil drilling, continuing oil drilling.   Even during Katrina all levels of government federal, state and local were held reponsible by the media and by the general public.  I haven't heard a word in the media about what these other elected officials are doing besides defending furhter drilling.

What about these people pitching in and DOING something?
